Haloway Privacy Policy

Haloway helps families look out for a loved one who lives independently: daily check-ins, medication reminders, appointments and rides, a home-safety checklist, and family coordination.

The short version

We don't collect your data. We can't even see it.

Where your data lives

• Everything you enter in Haloway — check-ins, medications, appointments, caregivers, chat messages, safety tasks, and your care recipient's profile — is stored on your device and, when Family Sync is enabled, in your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service.
• Haloway has no servers of its own. The developer cannot read, access, or sell your information. Apple's iCloud terms and security (including encryption in transit and at rest) govern the synced copy.
• Family Sync shares data only with care-circle members you explicitly invite, and only within the sharing choices made on the Privacy & Sharing screen.

The care recipient's choices

Sharing is consent-based by design. During setup, families decide together what is shared — location, daily check-ins, emergency information, and medications can each be turned off at any time. When a category is off, it is excluded from sync at the engine level: it never leaves the device.

Scam call and text screening

If you turn on scam screening (Family Plan), the phone numbers your family has flagged are stored on your device and handed to iOS's built-in call identification. Texts from unknown senders are checked on your device against those numbers and common scam wording, and filed in Junk when they match. This happens entirely on the device: messages are never sent to the developer or anyone else, and Haloway cannot read your message history.

What we don't do

• No advertising, no trackers, no analytics SDKs.
• No sale or transfer of personal information to anyone.
• No accounts, emails, or passwords collected by the developer.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.

Notifications

Medication reminders and check-in alerts are scheduled locally on your device. They are not sent through developer servers.

Children

Haloway is intended for adults coordinating care and is not directed at children under 13.
